About Website Committee

WEBSITE COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports To: SCRID Executive Board Status: Volunteer
POSITION PURPOSE
To supervise all aspects of the website committee including updating content, troubleshooting database issues and updating the SCRID Board regarding membership process.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with the website designer
  • Manage website database interface
  • Provide reports to the Board during board meetings on current membership numbers
  • Forward PayPal notifications to the appropriate officers or committees
  • Communicate with board and members regarding issues with the website
  • Check SCRID Website email a minimum of once per week
  • Submit an annual report for the annual membership meeting
  • Attend 75% of all board meetings
  • Manage the website committee budget

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES

SCRID member in good standing;
Experience (or motivation to learn):

  • Word Press (or other website template site) back-end structure
  • Web-based data base formats

Ability to organize and manage systems and time;
Good written, verbal & ASL/PSE communication skills;
Sensitive to members needs;
Public speaking skills;

ABILITY TO

Interface in a mutually cooperative way with SCRID members, Board and volunteers, website designer;

About Certification Maintenance Program Committee

CMP CHAIR POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports To: SCRID Executive Board Status: Volunteer
POSITION PURPOSE
To supervise all aspects of the CMP committee including processing Continuing Education Units (CEU) applications and updating the SCRID Board regarding CMP processes.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process CEU requests
  • Track and report CEU activities to the RID national office
  • Provide a monthly report to the Board on PINRA, Independent Study, Workshop and Academic Coursework CEU numbers
  • Communicate with board and members regarding issues with CEU requests
  • Check SCRID email a minimum of once per week
  • Submit an annual report for the annual membership meeting
  • Attend 75% of all board meetings
  • Manage the CMP committee budget

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES

SCRID member in good standing;
Experience (or motivation to learn) Microsoft Office or similar computer office program(s);
Ability to organize and manage systems and time;
Good written, verbal & ASL/PSE communication skills;
Sensitive to members needs;
Public speaking skills

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE CHAIR JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports To: SCRID Executive Board
Status: Volunteer

POSITION PURPOSE
Supervise all aspects of professional development events, workshops and functions hosted by SCRID.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prepare and coordinate at least 4 professional development events per fiscal year
  • Recruit and coordinate a committee to assist in hosting events
  • Maintain constructive relationships with professional partners in the community
  • Prepare and maintain paper work required by RID, SCRID and other organizations
  • Work within the budget provided by the SCRID board
  • Check SCRID email a minimum of once per week
  • Submit a monthly report which includes budget usage updates
  • Submit an annual report for the annual membership meeting
  • Attend 75% of all board meetings
  • Manage the PDC budget

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES

  • Interpreting experience preferred; graduate of an ITP/IPP;
  • SCRID member in good standing;
  • Experience event planning;
  • Strong organization and administration skills;
  • Good written, verbal & ASL/PSE communication skills;
  • Sensitive to member’s needs;
  • Public speaking skills.

ABILITY TO

About Membership

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reports To: SCRID Executive Board Status: Volunteer
POSITION PURPOSE
To supervise all aspects of the membership committee including processing membership applications and updating the SCRID Board regarding membership process.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process membership applications
  • Manage membership website database interface with assistance from Website Committee
  • Verify PayPal membership payments are recorded correctly in the website database
  • Issue membership cards
  • Invite members to and generally manage SCRIDTalk yahoo list serve
  • Provide reports to the Board during board meetings on current membership numbers
  • Communicate with board and members regarding issues with memberships
  • Check SCRID Membership email a minimum of once per week
  • Submit an annual report for the annual membership meeting
  • Attend 75% of all board meetings
  • Manage the membership budget
  • Time commitment:  Approximately 1 – 2 hours per week, 3+ hours per week during renewal season

MEMBER AT LARGE JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports To: SCRID PRESIDENT Status: Volunteer
POSITION PURPOSE The individual who holds the MAL position is to be deaf or hard-of-hearing as per the bylaws. This person is to be the liaison between the Deaf and Interpreting communities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with coordination of various events
To ensure the Deaf/HOH perspective is involved when conducting business
Submit a monthly report to include various Deaf/HOH events happening within the SCRID region as well as NAD events or pertinent issues as it relates to the Deaf/HOH communities
Submit an annual report for the annual membership meeting
Attend 75% of all board meetings
Oversee the fiscal year MAL budget

TREASURER JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports To: SCRID PRESIDENT            Status: Volunteer
POSITION PURPOSE Maintain all financial records of the corporation
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the receipt and safekeeping of all book keeping of corporate funds
  • Shall in the beginning of February make a State and Federal report, and in April SCRID’s fiscal year report, shall forward a certified copy of SCRID’s financial statement, sourse of all receipts and a description of all disbursements, before May 30 of every year
  • Assist Committee Chairpersons on preparation of annual budget
  • Prepares annual budget for Board approval
  • Has authority to sign SCRID checks, up to monies determined by the Board
  • Shall be the lead on the annual audit
  • Be the point-of-contact and liaison to the Board on the annual financial audit
  • Check SCRID email a minimum of three times per week unless there is an event
  • Submits monthly Profit and Loss Statement and detailed financial statement
  • Submit an annual report for the annual membership meeting
  • Attend 75% of all board meetings
  • Oversee the fiscal year budget

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES

  • Certified Interpreter preferred
  • SCRID member in good standing;
  • RID certified or associate member in good standing
  • Experience as Treasurer or motivation to learn
  • Knowledge of PayPal, Quicken and Excel or motivation to learn

About Secretary

Secretary Position Description

SCRID Bylaws 2015 § 3.b.3
Reports To: SCRID PRESIDENT

Status: Volunteer
POSITION PURPOSE

Maintain all corporate records
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keeps complete and accurate record of the proceedings of the Board of Directors
  • Supervises the keeping of all corporation records
  • Forward minutes draft to members of the board and committee chairs for review within one (1) calendar week of the meeting
  • Publish official minutes on the SCRID website in a location designated for this purpose within one (1) week of approval
  • Forward approved minutes of Annual Membership meetings to Region V Representative within fifteen (15) days of meeting
  • Provide board of director officers and committee chairs with a printed Conflict of Interest Form in July of each year to be signed and retained as part of SCRID official records
  • Provide the following documents in electronic format to newly installed officers or newly appointed committee chairs:
    • Current SCRID Bylaws
    • Current Policies and Procedures Manual (PPM)
    • Conflict of Interest form (printed, signed and a copy retained by the Secretary) (annually)
    • Document listing website and email usernames and passwords (obtain from Website Committee)
  • Maintain 501( c) 3
  • Prepare annual affiliate chapter (AC) report, in collaboration with the board of directors in accordance with the RID PPM and Affiliate Chapter handbook:
    • Current contact information
    • Membership List (Membership Committee)
    • Copies of Letters regarding political actions (President, MALs)
    • AC problems and solutions (not including grievances) (President)
  • Shall attend at least 75% of the meetings
